They say the best things in life are free. Breathing is free, a smile is free, wind is free, but I can't think of anything related to building a spa that is "Free". I digress. The spa is becoming more lovely, by the day. Some unexpected happenings, but who didn't figure that would happen. If the creeks don't rise we'll be up and running in a week. We'd hoped for Black Friday, but instead you get great 'Black Friday-Cyber Monday Deals'. Hope everyone eats, smiles and remembers how blessed they are this weekend. See you all soon!

After years of planning and dreaming of new ways to pamper our wonderful clients....we are moving from our Highland Road location. We're not going far. Just onto Walton Blvd., to a lovely stand alone building where decadent spa treatment will live and breath.  We are busy creating a comforting, airy and light imbued service  retreat, a place where you can really kick your shoes off and enjoy a soothing service and a delicious beverage, with only the sounds of spa joyfulness tickling your ears.

It's not a moment too soon either.  The twinkling lights, festive music, garland, tinsel, giant animated figures at the Macy's Day Parade and aisles upon aisles of holiday merchandise…oh yes, it is coming! There is an onslaught of things to do before the 'Holiday Season' begins.  The scent of Autumn has begun to waft and withered leaves have found their way with gravity's help. Oh yes faster than we can rake the leaves from around the house, the neighbors' lawn themes will go from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas. I hope this give you readers new found dedication for starting early is this year.  It gives us here at the spa many a good ideas to aiding those tired feet when they cross the threshold of our doors.  When it comes to reducing stress, we are the go to people.

Gift lists may be less spontaneous, yet they strategic and sophisticated than ever before.  It takes some real thought to pick the right categories, brands, models, gadgets, bells and whistles. So when high budget holiday campaigns to consumers fill the air, more people than ever before will choose the smart choice. Can’t get to the mall? No problem... the 'Web' makes getting great deals so easy!  But even eBay has competition now.  With group deals, special offers and the like, your favorite merchants have plenty to offer this upcoming season. Some super bargains will be at your fingertips, including ours. So a trip to our website, Facebook, Twitter or Blog can save you plenty off some well earned grooming and pampering. But since school's beginning is here, lets begin teaching ourselves to calm the savage beast within each of us when we become overly stressed.

There are wonderful little ways of quieting the mind and calming the body that take less time and money than you may think. They are truly heaven scent when dealing with crazed drivers, heavy metro traffic, fatigue, headaches, skipped lunch breaks and too many to do's on the list with too little of the day. The wake up signs of irritability, mood swings, sleeplessness, excessive pressure can spiral out of control if left unchecked Spending a few moments engaging in relaxation techniques can make a world of difference in how you think and feel about yourself and others.  As a gift to those of you who need it, the next few paragraphs are for you.

All methods of relaxing have one of the following four components: relaxing the major muscle groups of the body, slowing down breathing, imagining a pleasant scene and creating repetitive thoughts or motions.  Spa excursions are pure heaven for the weary soul.  A well executed spa pedicure or massage can soothe frayed nerves and promote inner calm that lasts for some time.  Facials are also a gem to behold when tension is high and time for relaxation is limited. You can get a real bang for your buck as most facials incorporate massage techniques of the face, scalp, shoulders, neck, arms and hands. All of our spa facials showcase decadent massage techniques.

The "Fall 4 Spa Treatments" runs from October 1 - November 30, 2008.  This special event offers a decadent array of spa service delicacies. Visit our website to view the upcoming specials at the new location this Fall as we will be celebrating the world of spa together at Grand Opening Event.

Here are some hints for easy relaxation.  These techniques can be done at home or office easily. They require some practice, but the benefits are well worth the effort. Great for dealing with stress during your busy day. Cut this out and place it somewhere you will read it often. Trust us it works! We do it at the spa daily.

   1. Practice a short form of the above relaxation technique, taking a few seconds or minutes to relax several times a day.
   2. Carry a card with these words on it, and look at it several times a day: "I am calm and relaxed." (A personal favorite.)
   3. Take deep slow breaths often, while on the phone, in the car, or waiting for someone.
   4. Remember that is good to say "no" when asked to do something you do not wish to do.  This will lessen the level of anxiety in your day.
   5. Take time to reflect on the serenity of falling snow or enjoy the melodic captivity of atmospheric music that employs the sounds of water or nature.
   6. Create empty spaces in your life where nothing is demanded of you.
   7. Exercise regularly, (examples: rollerskating, zumba, etc.) while limiting caffeine, soda pop, alcohol, and refined sugar(s) in your diet.

These wonderful tips will help you keep a healthy body and a lifted frame of mind.   Life won't feel so full of stress.  You’ll feel for yourself the peace of mind that lasts well beyond this season.
